Wow! I must admit......the blog may have slipped my mind a tad. Ooopsy! In December when I posted, I was preparing for the holidays, waiting to hear from medical school, and working hard to continue to lose weight!

We'll begin with the bad news and end with the good news! The bad news is that I heard back from UNR Medical School and I was, unfortunately, denied from their program. I was much sadder than I thought I would be about it. It's tough when you work hard for four years, study for the MCAT, have the shadowing and work experience, all for it to not be good enough. Medical school is SOO incredibly competitive in this day and age. I am proud of myself for getting as far as I did in the process for UNR Med, but I am still really disappointed that it wasn't good enough. I am still waiting to hear from some other schools, but I did NOT want to be caught without a plan in case I hear similar decisions from other schools. So, on that note, I began school at UNLV to prepare for their Nursing School Program. Even if medical school does not work out for me, I still want to work in health care. I may try to pursue medicine in the future, but I also wanted to start my career so that is why I am making the choice to pursue nursing!

In my last post, I had announced I had lost about 17 pounds. Well, I definelty didn't stop there. I am down 28 pounds!! I am so happy, so proud, and so motivated. I see the goal getting closer and closer! My mom and I have been having a great time discovering new recipes and new snacks, and we believe food tastes so much better now that we are paying better attention to what we are eating! ( Our old foods are bleh now, LOL). The worst part of my weight gain throughout college was stuffing clothes far back into my closet because they slowly stopped fitting. I am finally able to start bringing some of my favorite clothes back out because THEY FIT! One of my New Year's resolutions was to drink more water! 1 gallon a day is my goal. I haven't been the best at adhering to it (yikes) BUT everyday is a new day to chug some water. Haha!

Something that has been a little bit of an internal struggle in my hair!! I have dying my hair since high school. I know everyone, it's a shock, I'm NOT a real blonde!!! (Shock). Haha! I love the way it looks, however, bleaching is DRYING! I have been googling and searching for hair products to help and also toyed with idea of going back to my natural color. Will I ever pull the trigger on going back to my natural hair?? We may never know! And then there is the debated between long hair/short hair! I have had both, love both. But, when I have long hair, I want short hair. When I have short hair, I want long hair! So, we'll see what 2021 has planned for my hair! I'll keep you posted.

February has a couple important birthdays! First off, the women who gave me life. Terri's birthday is Feb. 8! Second, my little fur baby, Paisley! We are unsure when her birthday is exactly, but we know its in February! Speaking of Paisley, my parents gifted me with the Wisdom Panel, which is a dog DNA kit to determine their heritage. I was guessing she was a Chihuahua/ Miniature Pinscher. She is a Chihuahua/ RAT TERRIER! My poor baby is a rat! It's OK she's the cutest rat ever.

Thanks for reading my little life updates! I'll be back soon ( if I don't forget again) (LOL)
