Well, I just want to first say SORRY! The past few weeks have clearly gotten away from me! What have we missed? Let's see......my 23 birthday was on November 16! I remember being little and thinking people in their 20's had their whole life together.....LOL. We just passed my all-time favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. We made all the fan favorites and I was in food heaven. And now we have arrived in December!! What a year it has been. A year I think most people will be happy to watch shrink in the rearview mirror. LOL. Back in March, we all assumed this would be over in a matter of weeks, MAYBE a couple of months. As much as it sucks, I'm thankful that my family and friends have remained healthy and safe throughout all this change and chaos.
Since the last time I updated the blog, I received an interview from UNR Medical school! This is an exciting step for me because getting an interview usually means that, on paper, you meet the school's requirements and that they are interested in you for their program. I completed my interview a couple of weeks ago. Now we begin the 'Big Wait'. I have all my fingers and toes crossed in hopes of hearing some good news from them within the next couple of months.
Some more exciting news for me since my last post is that I have lost about 17 pounds since coming home from school! I am really loving the Weight Watchers program. I don't feel deprived and I rarely feel super hungry. Its decision making and portion control. But on days like Thanksgiving and my birthday, I decided not to track and just enjoy the day. I realized that confining a cheat day to specifically ONE DAY every once in a while helps to subdue some cravings eat some rich foods I have been missing. I feel that having days like that every few weeks actually helps my weight loss because my body gets so used to running on fewer calories most of the time and then I assault it with some rich, caloric food and it goes "Woah hold on, let me turn up the metabolism real quick that's a lot of food" or at least that's what I imagine my metabolism saying, LOL. My mom and I have lost about the same amount and we feel really amazing. I have never tried to lose weight like this before because, in the past, I was just trying to lose 5 pounds here and there. In the past, I tried fad diets and cleanses that worked, but never sustained. I always managed to find the weight I lost and a little extra. I'm not losing weight super fast, but I am happy with my progress and the short-term goals that I am meeting. Getting to my goal will definitely take time, but I feel that the way I am going about the weight loss will help me to keep it off and stay healthy instead of yo-yo-ing. We keep coming out of rooms with clothes we couldn't fit into two months ago, or in an outfit that has some extra room, and it feels really good to have tangible results like that. I still have some work to do, but I am really happy with the progress I have made so far!
I just bought a new 2021 planner from Amazon. The company is called Bloom Planners. If anyone is trying to get a jump on their 2021 plans, I recommend them. They have large planners, small planners, weekly, monthly, desk/wall calendars, and stickers to mark important or significant dates! I used their planners this past year......well......I used it for a while until the world sort of shut down, LOL. I am hoping that purchasing this planner manifests some good vibes for the upcoming year. They also have a bunch of different kinds of planners, like weddings, food, goals, etc.
I'm sorry I sort of dropped off the blog radar. But I am back now! Thanks for reading my little life updates!

Ta-ta for now!
