Heyyy YA'LL! Lol, my momma and I just got back from a little trip to Fort Worth, Texas (insert country drawl here). We flew into Texas for the wedding of one of my life-long friends! I met Brian when we were in preschool and we kept in touch over the years. He ended up coming to the high school I attended, Coronado. But, fast forward about four years and here we are at his wedding!! It was at his mom and step-fathers ranch near Fort Worth! It was a beautiful wedding! All of their dogs were running around (so naturally it was the best wedding I have attended), they had the cutest donkey that was delivering beer to the guests, I rode a horse (while drunk I might add, lol), and we got to see their baby cows! It was really such a fun little trip! We saw a cattle drive, a local rodeo, we went to the biggest 'Honkey-tonk in the country', we bought some new boots, and we went to the location of the assassination of JFK in Dallas! We fit a lot into a few days, but I think I could see myself moving to Texas. Here are some of the photos from our trip!
And here are a few videos!
So, that was our little trip to Texas!! If anyone wants to relocate with me, lets go!!!
My last post was my declaration and beginnings of my weight loss! I have been doing Weight Watchers with my mom for about 3 weeks now! I am a little over 5 pounds down! Which I am super thrilled about! I haven't been starving, I have been eating what I want and I've been satisfied. For me, the biggest contributor to my weight gain (and I'm sure just about everyone in American) is portion control. I have been eating bread, candy, cookies, chips. Now, the only difference is, I'm portioning. And guess what? It's working. I count out my chips and cookies, I track them, and I don't feel bad because I didn't sit down and eat the entire bag. I'm definitely not just sitting around eating chips and cookies (lol I wish) but I'm learning how to incorporate them when I'm craving them so I don't restrict. Most of the time spent the last three weeks has been cleaning up my eating, and I've come across some great, easy, amazing recipes.
One thing I have been eating consistently is my little pre-workout snack, which I look forward to every day. I have been having:
-2 slices of Sara Lee 45 calorie whole wheat bread (toasted)
-1 banana, crushed
-cinnamon
I get the yummy carb satisfaction of bread and the sweet satisfaction with the banana and cinnamon.
Weight watchers has almost become a fun little game. Fruits and vegetables are 0 points because they are trying to motivate you to fill up with these. However, you can use your points how you want. I say its like a fun little game because my mom and I will be in the store with our WW app, scanning food to see what we can get for the fewest amount of points! We have made some discoveries like : Ole Xtreme Wellness Tortillas, Werthers Sugar-free Caramel Hard candies, Our Little Rebellion Sweet and Smokey BBQ protein crisps, and Hormel Turkey Pepperonis. I'm probably leaving some things out, but these have changed the game for us.
My mom always jokes that she could eat pizza every day for every meal and never get tired of it. Same. Except for that pizza from Dominos or BJ's are fiiillleeedddd with calories and fat. So, we made a little compromise.
We bake the Ole Extreme tortillas and then add some fat-free cheese, canned pasta sauce, turkey pepperonis, and then add veggies like onions, tomatoes, and pepperoncini. And BAM! You have yourself a mock pizza. It's no fast food pizza, but for me and my mom, it satisfies our pizza craving!
We have been eating a lot of fish, shrimp, veggies, and compromised recipes like our tortilla pizzas! And for us, it's working! We have also been going to a lot of spin classes. My mom used to hate spin, but I think she's starting the like it. Other than a sore ass for the first few weeks, it's one of my favorite workouts.
I am going to start collecting some of the recipes we have been making and post them here with the nutritional information AND weight watchers points!!
Thanks for stopping by! Go check out my home page, I added a fun little graphic of yours truly and changed the color scheme because I am indecisive, lol! I'll talk to you soon with some fun recipes!
