Ok so I have this tendency to start stuff and then never follow through.....SOOOOOOO.....I'm really gonna give this blog a shot because 1. It took a hot minute to get this page looking FIRE and 2. Well I'm not sure about 2 yet but we'll figure it out.

Ok so first off, I feel like I should introduce myself a little more in depth. So, my name is Cassidy! I grew up in Las Vegas and I completed my undergrad at the University of Arizona! I have a BS in Health Sciences and I'm currently applying to medical school!

I adopted a dog 3 years ago, and she's basically my little baby, my potato, my chicken, my child. I'm basically obsessed with her. This is my potato, her name is Paisley.

So adoption story time: I went to go visit my best friend/college roommate in Phoenix during the summer between our freshman and sophomore years of college. We went to Sedona and my dumb ass started looking up DOGS in TUCSON because we sorta wanted a dog in our new apartment. Well somehow I ended up on the Phoenix Human Society website and came across a cute little dog (not Paisley). The shelter was on our way home, so we decided to stop just to go play with this dog. We get there, and the dog had been adopted!! BUT, then we saw Paisley (her name at the time was Tika). She was just 6 months old, adorable, big ears, and looked lonely. So, we asked to play with her. I really had NO intentions of adopting a dog!!

Well, we played with her, and I fell in love. I was on the phone calling my mom begging her to let me adopt this dog. I had already assumed she would be like "Mhm ok, now leave the shelter, goodbye". HOWEVER, she basically told me she would be my responsibility and that I could do it. HUH? WHAT? Never expected that answer.

Only problem was (and I will never understand this part because it was a Humane Society Shelter, not a puppy store??) but she was around $300!!! I'm a broke ass college student, but I was about to do it because I fell in love with her. My roommate, who clearly has excellent hearing, heard one of the shelter workers say that the following day was an event where all dogs were FREE! All you had to do was bring a collar and leash with you and you got to adopt these dogs for FREE. Only catch was you couldn't put any dogs on hold, it was first come first serve. We were so afraid that she would get adopted that night before they closed that we literally stayed in the shelter until they closed playing with her, went home, set our alarms for the crack ass of dawn and went to bed. Next morning, we drive to the shelter like two hours before they opened, BLESS UP because we were the first ones in line. So a couple hours go by, I sign some papers, and my best friend and I adopted a puppy. I bought her a dog carrier (because OH YEAH forgot to mention I flew to Phoenix) and I flew home with her a few days later. 3 years later, my entire family loves her to death, and she's the light of my life. She really is one of the most well behaved, nicest dogs I've ever met (and everyone agrees).

So, that's the story of how I became a dog mom.

Some others factoids about me: I love to read, I was a RAGING Twilight fan, back in the day. However, my obsession has returned because Stephanie Meyers recently released 'Midnight Sun' and I feel like I am back in 6th grade obsessing over the weird world of Twilight. Funny story: my best friend, mentioned previous in my adoption story (Kate), has a life long best friend back home in Chicago who I am pretty close with now because we both love all things reading, Twilight, vampire diaries, etc. I talk to my best-friends best-friend more than I talk to my own best friend....if that makes sense? lolololol We are planning a trip to Forks, WA to live out our Twilight middle schools dreams. Ok, stop judging, its fine.

I have always been a little artsy-fartsy, and have recently been thinking about opening an Etsy store??

My current art project is going to be recycling newspaper to make paper with a mould and deckle! Maybe some cool paper with pressed flowers and stuff? I love water color painting and drawing! I recently got an app that is really amazing for art that I'm trying to work with! Its the procreate app that works with iPads and the Apple pencil!

*Also, weird side-note, if you are a student, I recommend nothing more than an iPad and Apple pencil for notes. Amazing! No more notebooks, paper, ew. So great, so easy so organized! I use the Microsoft Notes app thats part of the whole Microsoft family, but theres a million apps for it!

I'm a total movie/TV show lover. I've always been the kind of person that would rather have a show on in the background than music, although I do love music too!

Anyway I could probably go on for a while about all my interests, but just a little bit about me and some of the things I'll probably talk a lot about on here! If anyone got this far, THANK YOU. Subscribe if you want to hear the continued ramblings of myself. Also, I'm always down to talk about books/movies/TV shows: a favorite hobby of mine, lol.
